Room Dividers & Partitions
Room dividers and partitions for Accra homes and offices — decorative screens, gypsum and glass partitions, slatted timber dividers, and open-plan zoning. Designed, installed and handed over in writing, with gypsum board specified to ASTM C1396 / EN 520 where board is used. Wallpapers Ghana, since 1985.
A room divider is not one product — it is a choice between several systems, each suited to a different purpose, from a light decorative screen to a full acoustic partition. Wallpapers Ghana has designed and installed dividers and partitions across Accra since 1985, extending its wall and surface work into the way a space is zoned, broken, and given privacy without always building a full wall.
Choosing the Right Divider for Your Space
The most common regret is choosing a divider for the look and discovering its limit later — a decorative screen where real acoustic privacy was needed, or a closed gypsum wall where open-plan light was wanted. The divider is a purpose decision: to suggest a zone while keeping the space open, a screen or slatted break is right; to keep daylight while defining a room, glass; and where privacy and acoustic separation matter — a home office, a meeting room — a full gypsum partition is the call. We specify to the purpose first.
Divider Systems We Install in Accra
Decorative Screens
Freestanding or fixed decorative screens to suggest a zone — an entrance, a dining area, a reading corner — without building a wall. The lightest-touch way to break a space while keeping it open.
Slatted & Timber Dividers
Warm, semi-open slatted and timber dividers for open-plan living and reception spaces — they break the space and add texture while letting light and sightlines through. A common pairing with feature walls and media walls.
Glass Partitions
Framed or frameless glass partitions that define a room while keeping the daylight flowing — the usual choice for offices, receptions, and home studies that need separation without a closed-in feel.
Gypsum Partitions
Full board partitions on a metal or timber frame for real acoustic separation and privacy — taped, skimmed, and decorated. The gypsum board is specified to ASTM C1396 / EN 520, with fire-rated (Type X) board where a genuine fire requirement applies.

How We Design & Install a Divider
- Consultation & divider selection — divider type chosen to the room and the purpose; opening measured.
- Survey & setting-out — floor, ceiling, and services checked; divider line and any pass-through set out.
- Frame & build — frame fixed and boards worked for gypsum; track, posts, or frame set and panels/slats/glazing fitted for the others.
- Finish, snag & handover — taped, skimmed, finished, snagged against the design, room handed over clean.
Materials & Real Standards
- ASTM C1396 / EN 520 — gypsum/plasterboard specification for the board used in gypsum partitions (incl. Type X fire-rated board where a genuine fire rating is required)
- Glass partitions are specified by glass type, thickness, and framing to the opening and the brief — described qualitatively; we do not attach a fabricated partition standard
- Slatted and timber dividers are a craft finish — quality comes from sound framing, fixing, and setting-out, not a product certificate
- Decorative screens are specified by material and fixing to the room — there is no product standard we claim for them
What Affects the Cost
- The divider type (decorative screen vs slatted/timber vs glass vs gypsum partition) and the level of separation needed
- The span and height of the opening, and the condition of the floor and ceiling line
- Glazing, doors, pass-throughs, and any services running in the line
- Finishes, decoration, and any old wall or fixings to remove
Every quote follows a free site survey — no fixed rate is given before the opening is seen.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of room divider can you install? Decorative screens (to suggest a zone), slatted and timber dividers (semi-open open-plan breaks), glass partitions (separation that keeps the light), and full gypsum partitions (acoustic, private board walls). We specify to the room and the purpose.
How much does a room partition cost in Ghana? It depends on the type — screen, glass, slatted timber, and gypsum partitions sit at very different points, and the price turns on span, materials, finishes, and services. The firm quote follows a free site survey.
Do I need a full wall, or will a divider do? A divider suits zoning that keeps the space open; a full gypsum partition is the call where real acoustic privacy is needed, such as a home office or meeting room. We advise on which the room needs.
Can a glass partition keep an office feeling open? Yes — a glass partition gives acoustic and visual separation while keeping daylight flowing, which is why it suits offices and receptions that need defined rooms without a closed-in feel.
